Thoughts for the Team Events Roster...

After a few games in our League, I've decided to make some changes to my roster... First of all, Daemonettes are really good ones, so there's a need for at least 2 packs of them. Also, Horrors are must-have unit - a large pack of them. Simply, because they are the Troops choice of the Daemons of Tzeentch - and Heralds can join them, if I need it. And Plaguebearers... The home-scorers. Both, Horrors and Damonettes can be busy in the other places and have no time to score the marker in deployment zone. The Nurgle ones will never just forget about the scoring to complete another goal. Also, enemy tries to kill them pretty rare before he finishes the other units. And, Sathonyx with Bomber - still good choices.

PRIMARY DETACHMENT : Chaos Daemons

HQ1 : Kairos Fateweaver [300] - Warlord
HQ2 : Heralds of Chaos
HQ2.1 : Herald of Tzeentch; Disc of Tzeentch; Exalted Reward; Psyker (Mastery Level 3) [150]

HQ2.4 : Herald of Tzeentch; Disc of Tzeentch; Psyker (Mastery Level 3) [120]

I want to change it a little bit... First of all, no venoms. They do almist nothing, but dying rapidly. Even by the powers of the Warp Storm. I think to leave Sathonyx and Bomber in the roster, and take Wytches or Warriors just cause I have to take troops for my Allies, and to take the Zoo for Baron.

So, I have to do the battle reports for my grand fail :)

Doubles 1500

Sorry for not posting anything for awhile... I just cannot play for some time, and the reason is always unpredictable... Brother's birthday, opponent that decided not to come and play at the last moment, music concert, closing of the gaming club...

So, there will be a doubles event in October with the strange rules - 1500 from a player... And each player may also take an Allied Detachment. So, our team has a strange composition - Chaos Daemons + Chaos Space Marines + Dark Eldar + Eldar!

PRIMARY DETACHMENT : Chaos Daemons

HQ1 : Lord of Change; Psyker (Mastery Level 3); Lesser Reward; 2 Greater Rewards [305]
HQ2 : Daemon Prince; Daemon of Slaanesh; Warp-Forged Armour; Daemonic Flight; Psyker (Mastery Level 3); 2 Greater Rewards [330]

Troop1 : 10 Pink Horrors of Tzeentch [90]
Troop2 : 10 Pink Horrors of Tzeentch [90]

ALLIED DETACHMENT : Chaos Space Marines

HQ1 : Sorcerer; Psyker (Mastery Level 3); Force Axe [110]

Troop1 : Chaos Cultists [50]

FA1 : Heldrake [170]

TOTAL [1500]

My partner didn't make his roster yet, but I expect for Baron Satonyx (with the DE zoo or with the E jetbikes), few Venoms, few flyers (at least Crimson Hunter) and one or two Wave Serpents. After reading his list, I will decide, which weapon to take for the Heldrake - Baleflamer or Hades Autocannon. My intuition tells me, that I will take the Hades. But we will see soon.

In any unclear situation, take Kairos

I just played against Tau Empire yesterday... And I understood, that if I want to play with the Screamer Death Star, I must include Kairos in my list.

Princes tried to survive as long as they could... And the boing was annihilated, when I failed the Grimoire roll.

With some experience with games against tau (WonDen and Dajnard, mostly), I have a conclusion that 4 FMC have a better chance to deal with that army, then 2 FMC and the Fiend-Boing. And that is the reason of the absence of the Fiends and Slaaneshi Heralds in me single roster :'(

Keeper of Secrets functions like a Portalglyph Courier. He can Deep Strike if the opponent is a complete defender (simply not to allow to break the Portal on the first turns. By the time he arrive on the table, it will be great time to score and the enemy should be already busy by the Monsters and Drones.

There are two more variants for that roster. Both will remove the Plague Drones.

1) Allied Imperial Guard and 2 Vendetta Gunships. This variant has a strong anti-air force. BUT. Not so long ago, Yawgmoth said to me that the top armies will be Tau Empire, Eldar and Necrons. And they are not the armies that are needed AA-units to fight against. Yes, Necrons have the rosters with about 7 Scythes... But playing with Cron-air, it's difficult to wipe-out the enemy. Also, it has problems with tau. That means, the only chance to meet Cron-air on Opened Russian Championship is to meet them in the 1st round or ... To lose a lot :) But, if I've already a loser, what's the difference, who is my new opponent?)))

Also, the IG variant makes the Keeper lose his Exalted Reward, and the LoCh now will have an Exalted Reward and a Greater one, losing much. Oh, and the Keeper becomes an useless piece of shit!

2) 20 Flesh Hounds. They looks a little more impressive, then the Drones, cause of their number. But it is a tasty stuff of a Poison (3+) and 3 wounds with a t5 and Shrouded (+ap2 with a Champ). Also, it is more tasty, if DP will cast Endurance on them. But 20 Hounds simply could do more (?). Everything I can do now - is just tests...

Apocalypse 03.08.2013

Just a few photos from the Apocalyptic battle. We were playing about 22,500 from side.

Sorry for the Instagram photos. I will post again, when Major will upload his photo on the internet.

1) The Warlord. First of all, about the Warlord Trait. For a long time, I've rolled the Trait with the Daemonic table. But, I've just sat down and thought. There is only one result that is interesting to me - re-roll of the Warp Storm. But it's so rare to be rolled, and other results ain't very interesting. So, now I think to use the Command Traits table.

The Warlord here is a Keeper of Secrets. His role on the table is to cast the Telepathy, to use the Grimoire or Portalglyph and to support the other troops. If we're the only attackers, and the opponent is just holding his positions, the Keeper moves to assault. But if the opponent is rushing my troops as an answer to me, then Keeper holds my positions in deployment zone, to support my troops on the objectives.

2) Fiend-boing. The boing consists of fiends themselves and 3 Heralds of Slaanesh. All of the Heralds shall cast powers from Telepathy lore. Also, they pick the Greater Etherblades from their Greater Rewards (This means, 4 attacks ws7 s5 ap2 i7 each Herald without charge). The last one, the babe with the locus. The squad gains the re-rolls for "to hit", which is very fearsome with their Etherblades. Also, the Locusbabe will target the characters with the challange. For example, she can take down the Rune Priests in the Imperial Guard Platoons. This is very useful function, cause the damn Rune Priest has no problem with slaying the DP - he can even deny my Iron Arm on a roll of 4+! Oh, and the -5 ini penalty. It's great combo with a locus girl and her challanges. Also, that rule is useful against "hit'n'run" special rule for the turn, that we are charging. Also, sometimes it is useful to detach one Herald and make her an "overwatch victim". That method rescued me from tau couple of times.

3) Troops. Plagueberers. I was pretty surprised reading the rosters from grand tournaments and didn't find plaguebearers in it. This is a great home scoring unit... Every time they were slain - they were the last. I mean, if my plaguebearers are slain, that means, that the opponent allready made me a wipeout...

Daemonettes. A great unit for a deep strike, I think. First of all, just because of the Slaaneshi run. Then, they can function as a light charge unit, and an "overwatch victims". Also, sometimes it could be useful to join the Heralds to them, when you really need to put somebody off the objective.

4) Daemon Princes. Some Sort of the Skyfire. I mean, they will take something rolled + Lash of Despair on their Greater Rewards. But sometimes - against tau, for example, it could be more useful not to take the Lash, if both good Rewards been rolled. Oh, and they roll the powers from the Biomancy lore.

5) Psychic Powers. Telepathy... A little or not, but it's 9 rolls by the Telepathy. We're interested in 3 casts (I don't count the Psychic Shrike)

1. Terrify. Mosts of boings that are played in Russia are fearless. It's a great benefit to make them lose that rule. And don't forget that the falling back unit will automatically fail the next morale checks. One day, I've almost made the 50-men Plaaton with Azrael and Ezekiel to flee off the table. But, a few inches left, and the opponent rolled the final "Deny the Witch". And I didn't take off 25% of the squad by shooting. 2 more guardsmen, and it could by a bad day for DA :)

2. Invisibility. The Prime Power for that roster. The target is the Fiend-boing.

3. Hallucinations. I think, there's no need to present this Power to you.

The weak points of the roster.

a) Tau and Dark Eldar (Venomspam). Too much fire. The army isn't tough enough to survive and punish that armies. We have some chance, if the first turn is ours, but we must be completely careful and pray for a lucky dice.

b) Mass-flyers. Necrons, for example. They don't wipe us out, but they survive enough to play by the difference in VP and to score the objectives better then us. How to fight them? Lucky Dice!

The final word for the roster. It war written for the team games, not for solo. Just because, there's too much counter-much-ups existing in solo game :)

New Life

I'm re-re-opening this blog (the third one of myself). The difference is that, this time, it will be completely in english and specialised on my Warhammer 40k army - Chaos Daemons. There will be my rosters, photos of my miniatures (I don't like the result of my painting, and from the end of this year, one of the finest Belorussian artists will paint it for me) and some battle reports. Everybody's welcome!

'Ere we go!
