Mission : The Relic

Deployment : Dawn of War

My Warlord Trait : Intimidating Presence (Command Traits)

Opponents's Trait : 3 units in Infiltrate by Huron.

My Psychic Powers and Rewards:

Keeper of Secrets - Reward - after the last wound suffered, he doesn't remove as casualty, he goes to an ongoing reserve with a single wound. The Psychic Power - Terrify.

Lord of Change - Staff of Change, Mutating Warpblade, Lance 8-1. Powers - Prescience, Misfortune, Precognition.

DP1 : Lash of Despair, Fleshbane and Armourbane. Powers - Endurance, Warp Speed, Haemorrage.
DP2 : Lash of Despair, Lance 8-1. Powers - Iron Arm, Endurance, Warp Speed.
DP3 : Lash of Despair, Invulnerable Saves re-roll. Powers - Endurance, Life Leech, Warp Speed.

I won the roll-off for the turn and decided to take the first turn.

I deployed the triangle of the Monsters in the middle of my deployment zone and the Hounds to the right and to the left of them. Troops went to Deep Strike.

Opponent deployed 40 of his Cultists, and left all obliterators and Characters to the infiltrate. Now I just thought, that he couldn't deploy one pack with 2 heroes to infiltrate, just because second hero cannot infiltrate while joining that unit... But that's really doesn't matter - he could attach Huron on his 1st turn from Cultist to that pack of obliterators.

On my first turn, I just rushed enemy deploy with all my forces.

I've also called the wrath of Father Nurgle on the Warp Storm, killing 5 Cultists from one pack. One of the Daemon Princes finished this pack with a lance and the Lash, achieving the First Blood. Other Monsters were busy by slaying 2 of 3 Obliterators from the near pack.

My opponent decided to eliminate my Flesh Hounds to protect his cultists. Obliterators pack with heroes is very successful with that task, eliminating 10 of the Hounds. The other Obliterators just killed 2 of them, rolling 4 for the charge distance, but 6 - is what they needed to.

On my second turn, horrors had arrived. Monsters separated - LoCh - for one pack of Cultists, one DP - for the other, Flesh Hounds - for the last of them, 2 Princes - for 2 Obliterators and Keeper - for the last survived Obli from 3-man pack. Keeper also used terrify for the Abbadon's squad, forcing it to fall back (they were using the lowest Ld-characteristic, because of my Warlord Trait). Huron denied the witch for my misfortune, so I decided that it will be difficult to take off 25% of the squad to make them fall back off the table.

As a result - LoCh and Hounds eliminating their Cultists, Monsters finishing the Obliterators. The Prince has left in melee with the last Cultist pack, they passed their Ld thanks to the Champion, issuing his challenge to Prince. But... Stupid LoCh... After slaying the Champion... He has left 4 of his wounds by the explosion of his Staff of Change... What a stupid idiot is my Warlord!?

On the second turn, 2 of the Heldrakes arrives, and Abaddon's squad regroups. Vector Strikes make the Coup de Grace to my Warlord (what a surprise!). The Baleflamers slays few Flesh Hounds. Also, my DP taking off the last scoring unit of Chaos Space Marines.

Plaguebearers arrived from reserve, trying ti hide behind the hill. DP, that just finished the deal with the Cultists, rushes to Abaddon's squad (thst consists of Abba himself, the Blackheart and 3 obliterators). Keeper decides to support him, but he doesn't pass a Psychic test, lefting enemy squad to be fearless. And, the Horror squad picks up a Relic. The Warp Storm brought a surprise to me with a Snake Eyes! But, I've lost one Flesh Hound. Also, one DP rolled 10, but saved the wound by FNP (:P). Monsters, that tried to harm Heldrakes... Did nothing. Then, DP and Keeper charged the last non-air squad... And Keeper failed T_T. DP is forced to stand in a challenge with Abaddon. But, Warmaster and DP both lose 3 of their wounds!

One more Drake enters the battle. From interesting events, the Drakes slayed the Prince with an Iron Arm by Vector Strikes and burned some of the Horrors and Plaguebearers... And there are only 4 Horrors and 3 poor Plaguebearers left (that's the main minus of slow and purposeful unit in Deep Strike...). Also, Horrors dropped the Relic. But, my DP was successful in eliminating the Warmaster Abaddon.

Horrors picked up the Relic Again... But all they could do is to wait for their death from the skies... Oh, and a Warp Storm... Oh, there was double 1? I see. Now it's turn for a double 6! And a new Pink Horror pack was born!

Even more! Horrors had their revenge for the Drake, and destroyed one, hell yeah! But, the Prince is not so lucky again... And does nothing. The other prince is the same loser. He was blinded by the victory upon Abaddon, and lost to Huron. Yeah. Prince is dead. Hail to the Prince! I mean, the Blackheart rolled 6-5 on the boon table and turned into Daemon Prince... Also, Keeper charged the obliterators this time, killing only one of them. But that was enough to force them to fall back and finish 'em on the sweeping advance.

The last Drake entered the battle, punishing my last Prince to the death... After the shooting phase, just a few Horrors, Plaguebearers and Flesh Hounds has left. And one of the Drakes went into hover mode. New enemy DP decided to fight Keeper, not to hunt my Hounds nearby... And both monsters did nothing each other.

Then, Plaguebearers charged the Hover-Drake, rolling 9 for the charge distance :3 And the Flyer had one Hull Point off. The Keeper and the Prince still do nothing.

My 5th turn wasn't interesting, just Keeper finally killed that Huron-Prince.

Oh... Yes... First Blood, Linebreaker and Slay the Warlord are mine, and nobody hold a Relic. But... A few vector strikes, some cancer on my dice, and 3 Heldrakes already wiped me out! Sad story :(

I think, I should deploy my Princes via Deep Strike and grant the first turn to my opponent - to deal with Heldrakes as the first objectives, and the ground - for the remaining of the game... But, this game, and the opponent himself made me to think - why shouldn't I use my Fiend-boing in Single games? :/
