TOTAL [1999]

Relic + Purge the Alien, Vangard Strike.

The Scream Council got Forewarning, Misfortune and Scrier's Gaze. One of the Horror Squads got the Bolt of Change.

Thanks to Baron Sathonyx, I got the first turn. I've deployed the Death Star and 3 venoms again. I've already knew that Venoms are dead, but I decided to kill somebody with them first... All of my troops gone to Deep Strike.

Den Deployed everything, excluding FW. Shadowsun and Farsight's Commander were joined to Plasma Squad, and Support-Commander was with Missile Squad.

And then... He seized the initiative... The Venoms tried to survive, but were annihilated... Also, the Death Star suffered much pain from shooting, but all 4 of Heralds survived, only the Portal Dude was wounded.

So, my turn was short. Death Star got it's 2++, rushing towards the hill they were hiding behind in 18 of Riptide and Crisis squad.

And the Storm... Rot... Glorious Rot... Yes, it killed 5-Wyches squad again xD

The Scream Council made shooting attack, leaving the Riptide in last wound.

Den's second turn wasn't much longer - Thw Gods of War - FW arived from the reserves, and the last DE on the table were slain. Also, Screamers suffered a wound.

My second turn brought all of my troops on the table. Beam-Horrors muishapped, going to my far-corner. Plaguebearers swapped the Relic, but suffered 2 blasts from Riptides, losing 4 of their boyz.

The Death Star opened fire to the second Riptide, he wasn't so lucky and died completely. FW deneied the Horror's shooting.

The coordinated shooting from Den's Tau annihilated both of my troops. Then, the plasma-squad, surrounded by 2 Riptides stands around the Relic on their thrust move.

My 3rd turn, the Bomber arrived. It shot it's Void Mine, finishing the first Riptide and killing one plasma-Crisis and one Drone. The Missile Crisis Squad suffered Misfortune. Bomber was destroyed on the Intercept. And, the Relic was captured by the Plasma-Commander.

The Missile Squad with a Support Commander was almost slain by the Death Star. One Drone survived.

Den's 4th turn - his units start to move away from Death Star. And the last Riptide charged them, activating the 3++. He was wounded there.

On my turn, the last reserves arrived. Sathonyx decided to hide in the corner, and Fate decicded to shoot to the Relic-Squad, killing 4 drones and wounding one Crisis.

And the Storm created the new pack of Horrors - 12 of them. They killed 4 Fire Warriors of 6.

Another one wound to Riptide.

The 5th turn - still the massive fire... And Kairos and new Horrors were killed... Kairos got 5 hits, and he saved nothing, including 3 re-rolls on 1s. Riptide was wounded again.

My turn... The Beam-Horrors simply fall back just not to give their KP to my opponent.

Riptide suffered a wound and failed morale check, dying on Sweeping Advance.

6th turn - Tau are trying to shoot, but do nothing. The Relic-Commander joined one of the Broadside teams, and Shadowsun joined a poor last Drone.

My turn - The Death Star is deviding - the Grimoire, the 3-others squad and the Screamers. The book-roll was failed. So, The Grimoire-dude killed 6 FW, 3 other fella finished the Plasma-Squad, and Screamers killed 2 FW with the Slashing attacks.

7th turn happened. And all of 4 Heralds were killed.

As the revenge, Screamers killed Shadowsun and the Drone with her.

But, nothing good. Den got 6 difference in KP, still holding the Relic. We both slayed the other ones Warlords, but he got the First Blood. The difference is 13 - so he got the maximum points from the mission. The difference in VP was less then 500, and the result is 3-17.

I liked that game. It was hard and dynamic... I want to say, I enjoy every game with Den, he's really the strong opponent, and there's always an intrigue in our games... But, he always wins. This time, the seizing of the initiative played the main role in that game.

Maybe, I should aggressively stand on the Relic with my Death Star, not allowing Den to capture it.
