TOTAL [1999]
Emperor's Will + Crusade (marker in the middle of the table), Dawn of War.
Magic... Every Herald had Perfect Timing... The simple one had no Tzeentch Primaris Power, but had Misfortune instead. No one had Forewarning... Okay... One Horror pack got the beam.
I won the first turn and deployed 3 Venoms, Death Star and Plaguebearers in the ruin with a marker. My opponent deployed War Walkers in the ruin in front of Plaguebearers, where his objective was, the rest was deployed in the far corner - Riptide with a Farseer and Commander, 2 Serpents (Farseer was in the Reapers' one) and the Sky Ray.
My first turn... And Grimoire roll was failed... Stupid of mine not to try to hide at least a part of Star Scream behind the ruin to avoid the shooting... But, I tried to kill the War Walkers as the First Blood. But the shooting was awful enough just to keep one Walker alive...
On the other flank, Splinter Cannons caused 3 wounds to Tau Commander and one to Riptide.
Eldar turn... Reaper disembarking. Open fire - Wyches Venoms were destroyed. The Death Star was annihilated, only the Grimoire Dude survived.
That was a minute of realisation, that the roster that I could wipe out - is making a wipe out to me...
Kairos arrived from the reserve and went to hide in the ruin, as the Herald did. The Horror pack arrived, and got 3++ by the Grimoire. Sathonyx joined the Wyches.
And the Trueborn with their Venom finished the Tau Commander. War Walker was still alive - such an awful shooting of mine.
Eldar turn - every reserve has arrived, excluding one Spiders pack. Kroot and Wraithknight arrived to the marker - near the War Walker.
The mass shooting dealed with a last Venom... A most of the phase tried to kill Horrors, but they didn't do much.
My 3rd turn - the Bomber and the beam pack arrived. Kairos has left the Combat Airspace and the Herald joined the Horror pack, giving 3++ to them again. The beam pack destroyed 1 HP for one Serpent and Sky Ray. An awful shooting from Herald and Horrors still didn't do any damage to the walker. Bomber has left the Sky Ray in the last HP.
Sathonyx with Wyches tried to charge Warp Spiders - near 4" and rolled 1-1-2 twice. Man, you suck.
The last Spiders arrived, but thery were scattered far away from my DE. The other one pack opened fire to Sathonyx... And that dude failed his 2++. After the Staff of Tomorrow re-roll. Dude, you're really suck!
Riptide destroyed one of the Void Lances of Bomber. The foot DE were killed completely, and the beam-pack had nearly 3 survivors. The pack with a Herald had 5 survivors.
Wraithknight charged the Horror pack and killed one of them, making a wound to the Herald from the instability test.
Kairos has returned. The Fateweaver captured his 2++ from the Grimoire fella. And still did nothing to that War Walker. Arrr! The Bomber used the Void Mine, annihilating the Avengers' Serpent and killed one Jetbike.
Wraithknight did nothing.
In the 4th turn, Eldar just finished the Beam Pack and made a glance to the Bomber. War Walker charged the Horror pack to support Wraithknight. They did nothing.
My 5th turn, Kairos is in 2++ again. Bomber has left the Combat airspace - to hunt the jetbike squad if there will be the 6th turn. The Fate denied the Kroot's marker... Also killing the squad of them.
War Walker and Wraithknight killed one Horror... But he went back by the Instability Test...
Eldar turn was short - Jetbikes moved to my Plaguebearers, ignoring the marker in the center... Wraithknight and War Walker killed 3 Horrors... But they went back again.
And the game ended.
I asked my opponent why the jetbikes didn't fly to score the ovbjective... And my opponent said that he thought that FA is scoring in that mission - the Warp Spiders... Yeah... A Weird situation. I got one marker, he got none. He got the first blood, we both got the Linebreaker. The difference in VP is few more then 500, and it's 11-9.
What can I say? I should hide the Death Star after a Grimoire fail. Even if it mean the giving of the First Blood... And my dice were awful. 90% of rolls were 1 and 2. Not only the first Grimoire fail, but almost every roll in that game! Arrr!
